상속

클래스를 정의할 때 기존에 구현된 클래스를 상속받아서 속성 (변수), 기능(메소드)가 확장되는 것

기존의 클래스를 가져다가 조금 더 확장의 개념, 이질적인 클래스 끼리는 상속이 일어나지 않음

 

a class ← b class

b클래스가 a클래스를 상속받는다. 단일 상속만 가능

상속은 코드의 재사용이 아님

상속받는 클래스를 화살표로 가리킴

 

예제) 고객관리 프로그램

고객 중에는 일반 고객 customer, 단골 고객 vipCustomer가 있다. 

vipCustomer : 일반 고객과 속성은 유사하지만 더 많은 혜택을 가지게 됨

예 ) 제품 구매 시 10% 할인

      보너스 포인트 5%

      담당 상담원 배정

상속받을 Customer 클래스 

변수 접근 제한자를 보면 protected로 선언이 되어있다. protected는 외부 클래스에서는 접근이 불가 하지만, 상속받은 하위 클래스에서는 접근이 가능하므로 protected로 선언되었다.

customer클래스를 상속받은 vipCustomer 클래스

customer 클래스에서 정의된 기능은 vipCustomer 클래스에서도 동일하게 사용이 가능하다. vipCustomer클래스에서만 사용하려면 추가적인 변수 선언이나 메서드가 선언되어야 한다.
